We dream of creating a world together in which the access to active citizenship creates happiness among elderly people by providing them with an opportunity to remain an active part of society and the local community.

We do that by giving them the right to wind in their hair, the right to experience the city and nature close up from the bicycle, and by giving them an opportunity to tell their story.

That way we build bridges between generations and we reinforce trust, respect, and the social glue in our society.

Our Dream

Our team consists of dedicated volunteers who enjoy connecting with others while

giving them the opportunity to feel wind in their hair at NO COST.

We offer daily rides down the Platte River and our goal is to enrich each passenger’s life, one ride at a time.

"Cycling Without Age is a movement started in 2012 by Ole Kassow. Ole wanted to help the elders get back on their bicycles, but he had to find a solution to their limited mobility. The answer was a trishaw and he started offering free bike rides to the local nursing home residents.

He then got in touch with a civil society consultant from the City of Copenhagen, Dorthe Pedersen, who was intrigued by the idea and together they bought five trishaws and launched Cycling Without Age, which has now spread to all corners of Denmark, and since 2015 to another 50 countries around the world." -www.cyclingwithoutage.org

Gary Harty started CWA Lakewood and Barb Lotze became a volunteer for that chapter and raised 10,000.00 to purchase a trishaw for Littleton. Working with Bill Nagal and Phil Cernanec, CWA Littleton began in 2019 and in June of 2020 officially became a 501 3 C (non-profit).
